Oncologist, Associate professor
Principal Investigator

Our group is focused on angiogenesis and energy metabolism in cancer and atherosclerosis. In cancer, we are interested in the role of splitting angiogenesis (also called intussusceptive angiogenesis) for growth of cancer tumors. In atherosclerosis, we are studying how mismatch between demand and supply of oxygen and nutrients within atherosclerotic plaques promote disease progression. The further aim of our research is to identify new targets to optimize treatment, potentially improving survival in cancer and reducing complications of atherosclerosis.
