Current Positions:
Senior Researcher at the Centre for Child and Adolescent Mental Health in Oslo, and Associate Professor at Telemark University College, Departement of Social Studies.

Research Interests:
I have done research on unaccompanied refugee minors for the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (1999-2000) as well as embarked on fieldwork and preparations for a doctoral thesis on the same subject. In addition, I pursued my doctorate at the University of Bergen/(Imer: International Migration and Ethnic Relations) on the historical practice and discourse (genealogy) of caring for unaccompanied refugee children coming to Norway during the period of 1938-1992. This study was completed in 2005. I am just in the initial phase of a new research project on the situation on unaccompanied refugee children, social service, health and well-being .
