The Section for Epidemiology and Social Medicine (EPSO) has broad and complementary research profiles including both epidemiologic and qualitative methods.
Research areas include obesity, health-related lifestyle factors, social inequalities, social structures and social factors in health and disease. Other topics are: alcohol, migration, medicine use, absenteeism and global health.
EPSO aims to increase our knowledge about the causes of the uneven distribution of health in different social groups and how these differences can be prevented, with a lifecourse perspective.
EPSO is also responsible for undergraduate and postgraduate educational programs within public health, medicine and pharmacy.
