Om Daniel S Olsson

Dr. Daniel S. Olsson, MSc, MD, PhD is an Associate Professor of Endocrinology at The Institution of Medicine, Gothenburg University, Sweden and a physician at The Endocrinology Department at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden. He graduated from medical school at Gothenburg University in 2010 and he completed a Research Internship at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in 2012. During 2013, he was the Head of Studies for Interns at Sahlgrenska University Hospital. He defended his thesis in 2014, which was entitled “Non-functioning pituitary tumours – mortality, morbidity and tumour progression”. Starting 2019, he is the Assistant Head of PhD Studies at The Institution of Medicine at Gothenburg University and oversees the PhD students with clinical projects. Since 2012, he holds a Research Residency at the Department of Endocrinology at Sahlgrenska University Hospital. His research interests include clinical studies on mortality/morbidity in patients with pituitary tumours and translational studies aiming to find biomarkers of aggressiveness in pituitary tumours. A large part of his research has also been conducted in the field of growth hormone excess and deficiency. He has also been invited to speak at several international congresses and has been a member of The Programme Organising Committee for The European Congress of Endocrinology 2019.

Dr. Daniel S. Olsson is a member of numerous professional societies and is currently serving as a member of the Community of Practice Workgroup at The Endocrine Society and as a member of Research Affairs Core Committee at The Endocrine Society. He is also representing The Sahlgrenska University Hospital at The Swedish Pituitary Group.
